BSD Labs is a multi-category brand operator. We own and run five Minnesota-market brands spanning adult-use cannabis, hemp-derived THC, hemp wellness, and functional mushroom beverages — giving us first-hand experience with every link in the supply chain we manufacture for.
Most cannabis manufacturers have never operated a brand. We have — five of them, across four product categories. Some contract manufacturers worry that owning brands creates a conflict with the brands they manufacture for. We see it the opposite way: every operational lesson we've learned running NuQanna, Hiza Kyte, and Boomers Blends — every label revision, every formulation tweak, every packaging crisis — directly improves the service we provide our contract manufacturing partners.
When you launch a SKU with BSD, we already know what the dispensary buyer is going to ask. We've already faced the LPHE serving-size limit. We've already watched a SKU get pulled because of a 0.4mg variance. That's expertise you can't buy from a manufacturer that's only ever operated a production floor.
BSD's own brands are in retail-channel relationships only — never in B2B competition with our contract manufacturing partners.
